On Wednesday, June 20th, a royal family member sadly passed away at 83 years old. Princess Elisabeth of Denmark died on Tuesday, the Danish Royal Court announced in a public statement.
Elisabeth, an unmarried woman famously known for living with her longtime lover in the late 1900s, died surrounded by friends and loved ones, reported PEOPLE. Other reports confirmed that her death came after a long illness; however, few details were provided.
The 83-year-old was 12th in line for the Danish throne. She was also further in line for the British throne as she was a descendent of King George II — who reigned in the 1700s.
Elisabeth will reportedly be laid to rest at Lyngby Kirke on Monday, June 25th at 1:00 PM local time. The service will be held by former royal Chaplain-in-Ordinary Erik Norman Svendsen, confirmed PEOPLE.
Please keep the family in your prayers during this difficult time. May God bring them peace and comfort.
