Prince George's future occupation is written in stone; one day he'll be the King of England. But, at the moment, Prince George appears to have a different dream job.
For Christmas last year, the four-year-old big brother and heir to the throne asked Santa to bring him a police car. Months later, his dad Prince William confirms that Prince George is still fascinated by police officers.
He revealed that fact while attending The Met Excellence Awards at Kensington Palace on Tuesday evening. Prince William and Prince Harry were there to speak to honorees about their work and achievements, reported People.
One of the awards was Police Officer of the Year. The winner, PC Philip Stone, was honored for his work Manchester Arena bombing and the Grenfell fire last year.
The princes spoke with Cadet of the Year, Nabil Laasid, 17, who People says lives close to Grenfell and lost a close friend in the fire.
While talking to Laasid and his supervisor, PC Jayne Richardson, she jokingly told Prince William that Kensington and Chelsea district were looking for more volunteers.
“We are recruiting, actually so if George and Charlotte are keen?” she said laughingly.
William laughed in response, and he added that Prince George would probably jump at the chance.
“He is obsessed, actually, by the police….cars, toys, everything,” he said.
Will Prince George be able to live out his dream? His father was in the Royal Air Force before starting up his royal duties in earnest, and his uncle Prince Harry served in the British Army up until 2015.
