On Saturday, May 19, the world watched with excitement as Prince Harry and American actress Meghan Markle tied the knot! The royal wedding took place at St. George’s Chapel and was one of the most highly anticipated events since Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding in 2011.
After the couple’s honeymoon, they jumped straight into all of their royal duties. On Saturday, June 9, they were spotted at the Trooping the Colour event to celebrate Queen Elizabeth’s birthday (though she celebrates two separate dates per year as her “birthday.”)
Duchess Meghan was the talk of the town as she broke royal protocol with her attire. She wore an off-the-shoulder light pink dress with a matching hat designed by Carolina Herrera. According to royal tradition, duchesses usually wear long sleeve dresses to the event, though Meghan opted to take a different direction.
After jumping straight back into royal duties, Prince Harry and Meghan are showing no signs of slowing down. In fact, the royal couple just announced some exciting future plans!
The Kensington Palace announced that the couple will take their first royal tour together this fall. They will visit Australia, Fiji, the Kingdom of Tonga, and New Zealand. The palace revealed that they will be making the tour sometime near the Invictus Games in Sydney, Australia which will take place from October 20-27.
The Palace said, “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will undertake an official visit to Australia, Fiji, the Kingdom of Tonga, and New Zealand in the Autumn. Their Royal Highnesses have been invited to visit the Realms of Australia and New Zealand by the countries’ respective governments. The Duke and Duchess will visit the Commonwealth countries of Fiji and Tonga at the request of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.”
Congrats to the royal couple on their upcoming tour! This will be a huge step for Duchess Meghan and for them as a couple! Let us know what you think. In other recent news, a Hollywood star just sadly died at a very young age. Please be praying for his family during this difficult time.
