White House Releases 1st Photos & Trump’s Thoughts After Trump, Putin Meeting Goes Way Overtime

On Monday, July 16th, the highly-anticipated meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian president Vladimir Putin finally took place. The two met with their leading ladies by their side in Finland.

According to reports, their one-on-one meeting went at least a half an hour overtime. Initially, the meeting was planned to only last 90 minutes, but the two presidents reached their two-hour mark.

Following their first in-person meeting, President Trump confirmed it was a “very good start” to the summit with Putin. During their meeting, Trump congratulated Putin on Russia’s recent World Cup win. No other details were immediately released.

The rest of their daily agenda consists of a business lunch, an expanded bilateral meeting, and a joint press conference. Stay tuned for details.

This meeting was only one event that took place during President Trump and First Lady Melania’s European trip. The First Couple also met Queen Elizabeth II and participated in NATO summit events.
