President Trump Responds to Sudden Death of NFL Linebacker

On Super Bowl Sunday—the same day the Philadelphia Eagles made history with their unexpected victory—a tragedy struck the NFL. A young linebacker from the Indianapolis Colts was killed in a drunk driving accident.

As previously reported, 26-year-old Jackson was riding as a passenger when he became sick. The driver (possibly an Uber driver) pulled over on the shoulder of Interstate 70 in Indianapolis to help Jackson, but the two were suddenly struck by another vehicle.

Jackson and his driver were instantly killed. Their death became the center of a major controversy when it was discovered that the other driver was intoxicated, an illegal immigrant, and driving without a license.

The drunk driver had been previously deported back to Guatemala twice and was using a false name. This tragic incident falls under the warnings presented by President Trump regarding immigration changes.

In Trump’s historical State of the Union speech, he emphasized the importance of border security to reduce American crime rates caused by illegal immigrants. Additionally, Trump assured that his plan includes citizenship for those brought to our country as a minor, as long as they meet certain work requirements and have “good moral character.”

President Trump responded to Jackson’s death noting that this is only one example of a tragedy that could have been prevented if our borders were more secure. He also extended his prayers to Jackson’s loved ones.

President Trump stated, “So disgraceful that a person illegally in our country killed [Colts] linebacker Edwin Jackson. This is just one of many such preventable tragedies. We must get the Dems to get tough on the Border, and with illegal immigration, FAST!”

“My prayers and best wishes are with the family of Edwin Jackson,” he continued. “A wonderful young man whose life was so senselessly taken.”

Please continue to pray for the family of Edwin Jackson during this difficult time. May God bring them peace and comfort.
