President Trump Responds 'Big League' to Rumors of Oprah Running in 2020

Recently, the internet has gone crazy with rumors that Oprah Winfrey is considering running for office in 2020. After her acceptance speech at the Golden Globes award show this past Sunday, thousands of people took to social media to encourage her to run for president.

Oprah has been an icon in America, and around the world, for decades. She is internationally recognized and her television show, and personal brand, has grown into an empire.

In past interviews, even Donald Trump has said he would consider Oprah to be his running mate. He commented on her intellect and likeability.

"In a 1999 interview with Larry King, Trump told the host that he 'loves Oprah,' and that she 'would always be his first choice' as running mate. 'She’s really a great woman, she’s somebody that’s very special. She’s popular, she’s brilliant, she’s a wonderful woman.”

However, at the time Trump made those comments, he probably never expected that Oprah could possibly ever be his opponent. However, after the recent buzz concerning the TV host taking on Trump, the president opened up about the challenge.

During a meeting with members of Congress about immigration on Tuesday, Trump told reporters that he’ll “beat Oprah,” but he doesn’t think she’ll end up running, according to reports.

“Oprah would be a lot of fun. I know her very well,” he said.
