President Trump Makes Major Announcement Regarding the State of California

The President of the United States has just made a major announcement to the nation. President Trump's declaration was distributed Tuesday evening by the Office of the Press Secretary. The statement can be read below.

"Today, President Donald J. Trump declared that a major disaster exists in the State of California and ordered Federal assistance to supplement State and local recovery effort n the areas affected by the wildfires beginning on December 4, 2017, and continuing. Federal funding is available to the State and to eligible local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations on a cost-sharing basis for emergency work in the counties of Santa Barbara and Ventura," reads the statement.

The announcement comes after wildfires have destroyed major areas in California. Numerous fires started in the southern region of the state, with some even spreading to celebrity homes infamous neighborhoods.

During the past year, California has gone up in flames. Thousands of families were forced to flee their homes and pray that their belongings would be safe. This move by President Trump will go a long way at generating funding sources to help with the costs of disaster recovery in the area.
