What advice would Donald Trump give his 25-year-old self? The wildly successful businessman and President of the United States had a surprising—if joking—response.

"What advice would you give to the 25-year-old Donald Trump knowing what you know today?" Asked Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk in a sit-down interview with the president in Washington, D.C.

After hearing the question, Trump paused for a second, smiled, and then said: "Don't run for president."

The 71-year-old's lighthearted response drew laughs from the crowd. After the laughter died down, the president explained his reason for his comment.

He said that he used to get "great publicity" until he ran for president, However, he says he's proud that he has been able to "expose ... the fake news" media in recent years.

"We have shown something that a lot of people didn't really understand. Their approval ratings are down the tubes. People have found out how dishonest it is," said Trump.

Kirk pointed out to Trump that many college students are being "ridiculed and silenced" for supporting him. The president also claimed he has significantly more supporters across the country than polls show, adding that people said you should "add 9%" to any of his poll numbers.

What a comical response. What advice would you give to your 25-year-old self?
