On Tuesday, June 12, President Trump met with North Korea's Kim Jong Un at a historic meeting. In an unprecedented move, the two leaders discussed the future of denuclearization and "peace and prosperity."

At the end of the summit, the leaders signed a statement including a four-step plan for moving forward. Below are the four main points:

1. “The United States and the DPRK commit to establish the new U.S.-DPRK relations in accordance with the desire of the people of the two countries for peace and prosperity.”

2. “The United States and the DPRK will join their efforts to build a lasting and stable peace regime on the Korean Peninsula.”

3. “Reaffirming the April 27, 2018 Panmunjom Declaration, the DPRK commits to work toward complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.”

4. “The United States and the DPRK commit to recovering POW/MIA remains, including the immediate repatriation of those already identified.

This meeting was a complete turnaround from the extreme tensions that have been occurring over the past year between the United States and North Korea. Last summer, President Trump and Kim Jong Un antagonized each other using extreme rhetoric on social media platforms. Tensions escalated when Kim Jong Un revealed North Korea's nuclear missile plans.

Now, thankfully, those tensions have calmed and President Trump has been able to get through to Korea's Kim Jong Un.

While many people have praised President Trump for being able to reach an agreement like this with Kim Jong Un, others, many of whom seem to care more about seeing President Trump fail than making sure the country is safe, are still in disapproval.

On early Wednesday morning, President Trump spoke out about the mainstream media platforms who are denying the impressive movement created by the historic summit. He noted that before he was president, all of those people would have "begged for this deal." Now, however, they simply want to see him fail.

Below is President Trump's tweet:

"So funny to watch the Fake News,  especially NBC and CNN. They are fighting hard to downplay the deal with North Korea. 500 days ago they would have 'begged' for this deal- looked like war would break out. Our Country's biggest enemy is the Fake News so easily promulgated by fools!"
