Tensions have been rising lately between the United States and North Korea after President Trump taking office in January.
Since then, North Korea has made threats against the U.S. and launched unsuccessful test missiles, which have raised concerns across the nation and even other parts of the world including South Korea and China.
Trump announced in an interview with Bloomberg on Monday that he would potentially meet with the leader of North Korea, Kim Jong Un.
“If it would be appropriate for me to meet with him, I would absolutely, I would be honored to do it. If it’s under the, again, under the right circumstances. But I would do that...Most political people would never say that, but I’m telling you under the right circumstances I would meet with him. We have breaking news.”
It is not confirmed that the president will actually meet with the North Korean leader, but this interview demonstrates it could be a possible next step.
