One of the most famous fast food restaurants in the entire world is McDonald's. The store has become a gigantic business by selling delicious burgers and fries for decades.
Sadly, a horrible story is now being reported concerning a McDonald's that is in Alberta, Canada. A local woman was on her way to her child's sporting event when she decided to stop in for a cup of coffee from the drive up window.
"Sarah Douglas, who is nearly seven months pregnant with her third child, told Lethbridge News Now that she was taking her son to a baseball tournament when she ordered a latte at the McDonald's drive-through Sunday," reported BuzzFeed.
However, the pregnant mother got more than she bargained for. When she took her first sip, she knew right away that something wasn't right!
"After taking a sip of what she thought was her coffee, she was forced to pull over on a highway and spit it out. She grabbed some water in her car and rinsed out her mouth. 'I opened up the lid of the coffee and out pours this pungent smell of chemical,' Douglas said. 'It wasn’t a latte at all,'" wrote BuzzFeed.
Sarah shared her story and it quickly went viral. McDonald's looked into the incident and now believes they found out how it happened.
“What happened is that the machine was being cleaned — as it is every morning. Unfortunately, the milk supply line was connected to the cleaning solution while this guest’s drink was made," said McDonald's.
