Popular Voice Artist Dies at 73

Patti Deutsch, a well-known voice artist and actress, passed away at age 73 on Wednesday, July 26th. The news about her death was not released until later in the week on July 28th. According to Deadline, Deutsch passed away after a long battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband, children, and grandchildren.

Deutsch began her career in the entertainment industry with television appearances and roles in comedy shows. She is best known for her regular appearances on the game show “Match Game,” but also appeared on “Laugh-In,” “Tattletales,” and others.

Later in her career, she became a very popular voice artist for many well-known movies. She did voice overs for characters in “The Smurfs,” “The Emperor's New Groove,” “Kronk’s New Groove,” “Monsters, Inc.”, “The Land Before Time,” and “Jetsons: The Movie.”

Fans reacted to her passing on social media. Many commented on how hilarious she was in “Match Game.”

In the following clip, celebrity contestants were asked to fill in the blank to the given statement, "Long John Silver said: 'Aye, mateys, whenever I run the 100-yard dash, to go really fast I put a BLANK on the bottom of me peg leg!'" Deutsch's response is hilarious!
