Police quickly responded to Trump Tower after receiving a scary report. Chicago PD showed up at Trump Tower and rushed to a condo owned by the singer R. Kelly.
According to reports, an anonymous caller said that R. Kelly's two girlfriends were in his Trump Tower condo and were going to kill themselves in a suicide pact. The call triggered a massive police response.
"In a police radio call this link opens in a new tab shared online, a dispatcher, who received an anonymous call, can be heard telling officers that Kelly’s girlfriend Azriel Clary and 'four other women, who are victims of R. Kelly are planning to carry out a suicide pact at one of the condos at Trump Tower,'" wrote People.
Thankfully, the call appears to be a hoax. Kelly's lawyer has now spoken out on the incident.
When asked to comment, Kelly’s lawyer Steve Greenberg told PEOPLE, “It is offensive that anyone gives this any credibility.”
The officials who responded to the residence tried conducting a welfare check on the individuals in the condo. They then determined it was all a fake call.
“Police received a call from an out of state anonymous caller stating that people at the location were going to carry out a suicide pact. Police on scene conducting a wellness check and it is not a bonafide incident,” the statement said.
