Police Investigating TV Actor After Sexual Assault Allegation

The Harvey Weinstein sex scandal in Hollywood that began in October has encouraged other women to be brave enough to share their story about experiencing sexual abuse. Following the fallout of Weinstein, actor Kevin Spacey also faced multiple sexual assault allegations.

Spacey, much like Weinstein, had to deal with consequences within his career and possible legal matters. At the beginning of November, another actor was accused of rape who may end up in a similar situation—Ed Westwick, best known for his starring role as “Chuck Bass” on the hit series “Gossip Girl.”

Actress Kristina Cohen accused Westwick of raping her three years ago.

On Facebook, Cohen wrote, “The last month has been incredibly difficult. Like so many women I too have a story of sexual assault, and the outpouring of stories have been both triggering and emotionally exhausting. I’ve gone back and forth over and over again, unsure if I should speak up.”

According to Cohen, she was dating a producer who was friends with Westwick at the time that the incident occurred. “[Westwick] raped me,” she said going into detail about the night of the incident.

Cohen reportedly fell asleep in Westwick’s guest room while visiting his home with her date, when Westwick came into the room and forced himself onto her. The original Facebook post will not be shown on Faith Family America due to foul language and graphic details.

Westwick responded to her accusations by denying them in a public statement. He stated, “I do not know this woman. I have never forced myself in any manner, on any woman. I certainly have never committed rape.”

Following Cohen’s public statement, she reportedly filed an official police report calling for an investigation. PEOPLE reported that police are now in the process of investigating Westwick on these allegations.

The LAPD stated, “Suspect forced victim to have sexual intercourse inside his residence … three years ago.”
