An NFL star was recently arrested and booked on multiple charges after being pulled over in New Orleans, Louisiana. PJ Williams, a cornerback for the New Orleans Saints, is currently facing the following charges: DWI, speeding, improper lane usage, and failure to use a turn signal, reported NBC News.
According to local authorities, Williams was pulled over after being caught driving 80 mph in a 50 mph zone. He allegedly refused to take a breathalyzer test.
This is the second time Williams was charged with a DWI. The first incident occurred in 2015. However, the charges were dropped after video evidence went missing.
The most recent incident occurred on January 23rd, which is only a few days after Williams’ team lost against the Los Angeles Rams — a game that would have placed them in the 2019 Super Bowl if they had won. Their loss sparked a massive controversy amongst NFL fans because a referee failed to call pass interference against the Rams, which would have likely changed the outcome of the entire game and resulted in a win for the Saints.
This story is developing and will be updated if more information is released to the public. It is unclear if Williams will be officially charged with the violations.
