Report: At Least 8 Dead, Others Injured in Active Shooter Situation, Prayers Needed

Horrible news was just reported out of Pittsburgh. An active shooter has been reported at a synagogue in Pittsburgh’s Squirrel Hill neighborhood.

According to initial reports, the shooting took place at the Tree of Life Synagogue. Multiple casualties have been reported. CBS has reported that at least 8 people have been killed, and others shot. A 46-year-old suspect is reportedly in custody.

The Pittsburgh Public Safety Department said, “There is an active shooter in the area of Wilkins and Shady. Avoid the area. More info will be released when it is available.”

According to Fox, people were barricaded inside of the synagogue. Everyone else was warned to remain in a shelter.

President Trump said, “Watching the events unfolding in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Law enforcement on the scene. People in Squirrel Hill area should remain sheltered. Looks like multiple fatalities. Beware of active shooter. God Bless all!”

Governor Tom Wolf said, “We are still learning details about the shooting at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh but is is a serious situation. @PAStatePolice are assisting local first responders. Please stay away from the area and keep the congregants and law enforcement in your prayers.”
