Devastating news was reported over the weekend out of New York City. Two prominent members of the dance community passed away.
On Thursday, iconic choreographer Paul Taylor passed away in a hospital. Sadly, he did from renal failure. Taylor was known as one of the most successful and creative choreographers in the world during his six-decade career.
Only one day after the sad loss, a famous dancer and former New York City Ballet star, Peter Frame, took his own life. The former athlete was 61 years old at the time of his death.
Frame reportedly left a suicide note before taking his own life. Tragically, Frame jumped out of his apartment building.
New York City Ballet posted, “We are saddened to learn of the passing of Peter Frame. As a principal dancer with the Company and then as faculty at the School of American Ballet, he spent more than forty years within the NYCB community and was beloved by many.”
According to NY Daily News, the dancer spent 14 years with the New York City Ballet. He began his career there as a principal dancer in 1987.
Both Taylor and Frame were beloved members of the dancing community and their deaths came as a shock to all. Hundreds of people took to social media to talk about the loss. Below are some of the tributes:
