President Trump captivated the nation on numerous key issues during the 2016 election. He appealed to people of faith by openly proclaiming his support for religious liberty as well as advocating for the rights of unborn babies.
Since taking office, President Trump has done an incredible job at keeping true to his campaign promises. He has invigorated our country with messages of faith and open, unashamed support for religious freedom. For believers in Jesus, it is clear that President Trump was chosen by our Lord to lead and guide our country during this troubling time.
In a recent interview, Press Secretary Sarah Sanders spoke out on God's divine plan for President Trump and our nation.
"I think God calls all of us to fill different roles at different times and I think that he wanted Donald Trump to become president, and that's why he's there," Sanders said in the interview with the Christian Broadcasting Network. "I think he has done a tremendous job in supporting a lot of the things that people of faith really care about."
Her words were immediately criticized by liberal leaders and Hollywood entertainers. However, Sanders is receiving major support from the faith community. Paula White, the senior pastor at New Destiny Christian Center and chair of President Trump's evangelical advisory board, publicly backed Sander's words. She agreed that President Trump was indeed "chosen by God in order to protect religious values."
"No matter how much they try to deride religion in the news and popular culture, the vast majority of Americans are believers. Furthermore, when you consider everything that President Trump has done for people of faith since taking office, it's easy to see why so many of them agree with Sanders that Donald Trump is doing God's work," she wrote in an article on CBN News.
White described the numerous achievements President Trump is responsible for since taking office. She highlighted some initiatives from the Trump Administration that have empowered faith communities across the country.
White discussed how President Trump has signed an executive order to end the federal government's persecution of religious organizations. He has created the "White House Faith and Opportunity Initiative" and he has openly supported Christian leaders. She also detailed how President Trump took time to attend the National Prayer Breakfast just weeks after taking office. She also points out that he is slated to attend this year's breakfast again.
"Most importantly, Donald Trump has been a steadfast ally of the pro-life movement, using every opportunity possible to speak out and oppose the inexcusable murder of innocent babies, particularly following the latest plans from the left in New York and Virginia to allow full-term abortions," White went on to say in the article.
"President Trump has been a beacon of hope for America's religious communities after eight years of darkness. Liberals may mock people of faith who believe he was chosen to protect their values, but I believe Donald Trump is fulfilling his pledges and I pray he will continue to lead with divine guidance," she concluded.
Pastor White's open support for our Commander-in-Chief has strengthened the Christian community and has empowered conservatives to defend religious liberty and God's word in our nation. We couldn't agree more with White's proclamation that God has chosen President Trump for this time in history. We hold fast to the promises of the Bible and continue to pray for the Lord's blessing upon President Trump, religious leaders like Paula White, and our entire nation.
