Parental Rights Were Just Stripped In Canada, And It Could Happen Here

A bill was just passed in Ontario, Canada ruling that dissenting parents of children who want to be transgender will lose custody of their children.

It has been now deemed "abuse" by the state to stand in the way of a child's desire to transition to another gender, and the state now has power over the parents' rights to their children and religious upbringing--since gender ideology is often a matter of religious beliefs.

“I would consider that a form of abuse, when a child identifies one way and a caregiver is saying no, you need to do this differently,” said Minister of Child and Family Services Michael Coteau, who introduced the bill.

“If it’s abuse, and if it’s within the definition, a child can be removed from that environment and placed into protection where the abuse stops.”

Christians, for example, believe that God made each person "male" and "female" and that He did not make mistakes. So this new bill has been rightly criticized as directly targeting Christian parents who do not agree with LGBT ideology.

“With the passage of Bill 89, we’ve entered an era of totalitarian power by the state, such as never witnessed before in Canada’s history,” says Jack Fonseca, senior political strategist for Campaign Life Coalition.

“Make no mistake, Bill 89 is a grave threat to Christians and all people of faith who have children, or who hope to grow their family through adoption.”

A petition has been started to oppose the bill, reports Life Site News, but will that be effective? Franklin Graham has just sent out a strong message urging Canadian Christians to heavily oppose this bill. And he also urged American Christians to be on guard, as what happens in our neighboring nation has the potential to spread here.

Now, if we were under Hillary Clinton as president, the likelihood of such government overreach would be far greater. Fortunately, we have President Trump. However, that does not put us in the clear.

We need to be on guard against such government totalitarianism that would strip parental rights. Do you agree? What do you think of this bill just passed in Canada? Share your thoughts and prayers in the Comments! Thank you!
