Thanks to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we haven’t seen Maggie Smith out in public too often. Smith, due to her advanced age, is more susceptible to the deadly virus. She has wisely chosen not to be in public for the past three years. Smith’s most recent photos are from 2019, which was taken under these circumstances. After attending a few Wimbledon games, she met Camilla Parker Bowles, Duchess of Cornwall, at a literacy charity function a few months later.

Although her talent on the stage can not be denied, it was Smith’s talents on screen, either TV or film, which brought her international fame. Her role as Professor Minerva Mcgonagall in Harry Potter brought her fame and a new audience. These audiences would be hard-pressed to recognize photos of Professor McGonagall, their beloved character, from her youth when she was an actress taking the world of theater by storm.

A Tender Moment

One of our favorite Smith photos is this candid shot of Smith with her son Chris Larkin. Though she’s wearing an extravagant-looking fur coat, she’s about as far from her stage persona as she could possibly be. It’s a tender moment between mother and son, and Smith’s glance towards the person taking the photo makes any who look at it feel like they’re part of that intimate exchange.

One of Maggie Smith’s earliest photos shows her working with George Nader, an American actor, in 1958’s film Nowhere To Go. Smith is easily identifiable due to her doe-like eyes. However, some might find it difficult to connect the dots. Smith was beautiful then, and she’s beautiful now.
