According to reports, Kroger is recalling steaks and beef. They believe there has been a possible E. coli contamination with the meat. Now, details are coming in and many consumers are double checking their meat before firing up the grill.

"Meat lovers were notified of another recall affecting rib-eye steaks and ground beef products over possible E. coli contamination. Consumers in the greater Cincinnati area who purchased Kroger bone-in rib-eye steaks, boneless ribeye steaks and in-store produced ground beef are encouraged to check the label before eating the product," reported Fox.

The meat was produced between April 23 and June 7. However, the company believes some consumers may stored the beef in their freezers. They are urging everyone to check their labels and look for the impacted dates. At this time, no reports of deaths or illnesses have come in.

"E. coli infections vary from patient to patient, but it often produces severe stomach cramps, diarrhea and vomiting. Some patients may develop a fever, but most symptoms are resolved within five to seven days, although others may be sickened for up to 10. About five to 10 percent of cases result in a potentially life-threatening condition called hemolytic uremic syndrome, which requires hospitalization for kidney issues," reported Fox.

The recall comes just days after another Kroger incident. They have also issued a recall for frozen berries that may be contaminated with Hepatitis A. Join us in praying that consumers won't be sickened from either recall.
