June 26, 2019Jun 26, 2019

April 15th was a truly tragic day for the people of Paris, France and others across the globe. The iconic Notre Dame Cathedral, one of the most famous historical monuments in the world, engulfed into flames for several hours just days before Easter Sunday 2019.

As previously reported, the cause of the fire was believed to be linked to the ongoing renovations on the house of worship. Local authorities stated that there was no evidence of arson.

Several weeks after the preliminary investigation had been ongoing, a new development was released. According to the New York Post, there is still no evidence that the fire was caused on purpose. Authorities believe it was accidental.

However, after interviewing witnesses and examining clues, two theories arose. Investigators said the cause of the fire could have been a “malfunction of the electrical system” or a “poorly extinguished cigarette.”

This story is developing. The investigation is expected to reveal more details in the upcoming weeks. Please stay tuned for updates.
