Notorious Hollywood Producer Harvey Weinstein Attacked at Arizona Restaurant

Harvey Weinstein, the Hollywood producer who was notoriously accused of widespread sexual misconduct, was attacked Tuesday night, reported TMZ.

While at Elements restaurant at the Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Resort in Scottsdale, Weinstein ran into someone who had apparently heard about his record of sexual abuse.

Weinstein was eating dinner with his sober coach when two men sat at a table next to them.
One of the men, who is named Steve, told TMZ that he walked up to Weinstein and told him he loved his movies. Steven then asked if Weinstein would take a photo with him.

Steve told TMZ that Weinstein then became belligerent and "told him to buzz off." His account was questioned by the manager of the restaurant, who said Weinstein was not belligerent.

She painted a contrary picture to the gossip website. She said he was "very sweet about it" and said, "I'd rather not take a picture right now."

The manager says the two shook hands, and Steve went back to his table. At around 9 PM, the situation changed. Weinstein and his sober coach got up to leave at the same time Steve and his dinner companion were leaving.

Steve admitted to TMZ that he had "quite a bit to drink." He told his friend to "fire up his cell phone and shoot video of what was about to happen."

Steve then walked up to Weinstein and said, "You're such a piece of s*** for what you did to these women."

Steve claims that he then punched Weinstein in the face twice. According to his account, Weinstein stumbled backward and almost fell. However, a recently obtained video shows Weinstein being backhand slapped twice in a row rather than being punched.

The video can be seen here. Warning: there is foul language in the video.

The restaurant manager says neither attempted punch connected. She also added that "the guy was drunk and out of control."

The person who filmed the incident asked Weinstein if he wanted to call the police. Weinstein declined to file a report and everyone left the restaurant.

This probably won't be the last time that Weinstein has such an encounter. His revealed sexual misconduct has had a distinct impact on American society, triggering a flood of accusations against powerful men in media and politics and starting a #metoo movement.

In other news, a Republican state lawmaker who was accused of sexual assault committed suicide yesterday. Please pray for his family.
