North Dakota Legalizes THIS On Police Drones

Keep an eye to the sky. North Dakota has become the first state to legalize equipping law enforcement drones with "less than lethal" weapons like Tasers, rubber bullets, tear gas, sound cannons, and pepper spray.

According to The Daily Beast, the legislation was tacked onto a House bill by a North Dakota Peace Officer’s Association lobbyist. The original bill addressed requiring warrants for using drones to search for evidence but morphed into allowing drone weaponization.

With the militarization of the police a recent issue of controversy, Rep. Rick Becker, the creator of the original bill, is worried that this is another step in police being able to attack criminals remotely.

“When you’re not on the ground, and you’re making decisions, you’re sort of separate,” said Becker. “Depersonalized.”

Do you see drones equipped with "less than lethal" weapons as an important tool for police departments?  Or do you think it increases police power too greatly?
