Quarterback Nick Foles, who won the Super Bowl with the Eagles in 2018, recently shared that he and his wife, Tori Foles, were expecting their second child. Now, the Christian couple has shared the tragic news that they lost the baby.

Tori shared the news in an emotional Instagram post. She revealed how she came to lose the child, but she also showed her faith in God.

Tori was 15 weeks pregnant when she realized that something was wrong. Soon after, she went into labor.

"Early Sunday morning after a rough couple days fighting a “virus” of some sort, I went into sudden labor and knew something was wrong," wrote Tori in her post. "Not long after we learned we had miscarried our baby boy."

She went on to share how the process affected her. After laboring and delivering a baby boy, she learned that she had contracted an infection of pneumonia in the blood.

"The emotions go back and forth from immense and overwhelming sadness, confusion and anger to a firm belief that God has this fully in his hands and will use this for good. We cannot always understand or explain, but we know that is true."

She went on to share how it has impacted her and Nick as a couple.

"We’ve endured some unique challenges as a couple so far, but never quite knew what something like this felt like and now we do. We have so much compassion and sensitivity to those who have gone through a miscarriage at any point and in any circumstance. We know they all happen very differently."

Tori shared that she is home from the hospital and in the process of recovery physically. She is on antibiotics to target the infection, but she still has to recover emotionally.

"This will take time," added Tori.

She concluded, "So many thanks to everyone who has reached out to us and who has been praying for us."

After Tori's shared the sad news, Nick linked to her post. He also added a Bible verse.

"But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me."

Please join us in praying for the Foles family during this incredibly hard time. May God give them comfort, peace, and healing.
