‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ Star Charged with Felony Domestic Violence, Attacked Girlfriend at Bar

One of the main cast members from the hit 1990s-2000s series “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” 48-year-old Nicholas Brendon, was just officially charged with felony domestic violence. According to PEOPLE, he faces one count of felony corporal injury to a spouse/cohabitant, which carries a maximum 4-year prison sentence.

The charges are related to an incident that took place in October of 2017. Brendon, who played Xander Harris on the show, reportedly pulled his girlfriend’s hair and yanked her arm amidst a heated argument at a Palm Springs hotel bar.

He also violated a protective order that was already in place. The order insisted that he could be with his girlfriend, but was not allowed to “harass, injure, assault or threaten” her.

Given that a protective order was needed, Brendon clearly had a history of domestic violence behavior with this woman. Immediately after the incident, he spent one night in jail and was released the next day on bail.

Brendon’s criminal history dates back to 2015. In this year alone, he was arrested four times — at least one of which was a domestic violence-related incident, reported PEOPLE. He was also treated for depression and substance abuse during that year.
