People are so “offended” in America these days that they will seek out censorship and give up on free speech just so they don’t have to face an idea or thought that doesn’t match up to their specific view of the world.
A developer, Rob Spectre, has recently created an extension for Google Chrome that will block and reference or mention of Donald Trump. According to the Washington Examiner, the Trump filter will substitute Trump’s name with a blank space.
Spectre denied that he was pushing his brand of censorship for money. “No, nor was I put up to this by the Republican or Democratic parties, the Obama administration, my mother or any other possible sphere of influence,” Spectre said, “I am doing this out of a profound sense of annoyance and patriotic duty.”
It would appear that Spectre doesn’t know what patriotic duty entails. Being a patriot does not include censoring the press and free speech.
