A famous entertainer has made his living off of his music and his pride for the town of Atlanta. 21 Savage, whose real name is Sha Yaa Bin Abraham-Joseph, is a fan favorite rapper who has claimed to have been born and raised in Atlanta.

However, the rapper was recently arrested and his secret is out. Officials say he is actually an illegal immigrant who overstayed his visa. He is really from the United Kingdom.

21 Savage's attorney has since responded to the news. He said his team is working with officials to "clear up any misunderstanding" and set his client free.

"21 Savage's manager says the rapper's 'in lockdown for 23hrs of the day no tv or any communication besides our 10 min phone calls.' He says 21's in good spirits, though ... thanks to hearing about the huge amount of support from his fans," wrote TMZ.

21 Savage is said to have come to America when he was 12. Officials are now looking into the case. It will be interesting to see how they handle his status since he has become a famous entertainer while in America. However, it appears that when he recently tried to become a legal resident that he may have started the ball rolling on his own investigation.

Now, the music star has released a statement about his arrest. He believes he may have been arrested as some sort of retaliation after his latest songs included lyrics that addressed immigration policies and the southern border.

"21's people just released a stinging statement in which they clearly think ICE's motives are corrupt ... 'Many have speculated as to possible ulterior motives for his arrest and detention, including that he released music five days prior to his arrest by ICE, which included new lyrics condemning the behavior of immigration officials for their detention of children at the border,'" according to TMZ.

The song being discussed it entitled 'A Lot' and has the following lyrics: "Been through some things so I can't imagine my kids stuck at the border. Flint still need water. People was innocent, couldn't get lawyers."

21 Savage recently performed the song on "The Tonight Show" and has received a lot of attention for the lyrics. Now, a legal battle is shaping up over his status in America.
