Willy Cory Godbolt, age 35, went on a ‘shooting spree’ in Mississippi late Saturday evening, killing 8 people. The victims have been identified including four women, a man, two boys, and one deputy sheriff named William Durr.

He is currently facing multiple charges. The Daily Leader reports he will most likely be charged with at least seven counts of first-degree murder and one count of capital murder.

Godbolt did have a criminal history including robbery and assault charges, but since the tragic news broke this morning, many have questioned his intentions and reasonings for committing this horrible crime. The murder suspect confessed all of the details on video to The Clarion-Ledger.

Godbolt says, “My pain wasn’t designed for him. He was just there.”

In the video, he discusses how he was having a conversation with the mother of his kids and their stepfather about bringing his children home. The police were called preceding the ‘shooting spree’. After he was put in custody, he was asked ‘What is next?’ His response was ‘death’. He was attempting to commit suicide-by-cop.

“I’m sorry. My intentions was to have God kill me. I ran out of bullets.”
