Danny Dias, former MTV reality star, passed away at the young age of 33. He was found dead in his Brooklyn apartment by a friend.

Dias appeared on season 13 of MTV’s ‘Road Rules’, a reality TV show where contestants traveled in an RV to complete a number of different challenges. Season 13 was also known as ‘Road Rules: X-treme’ and took place in South America. Dias was only 20 when he appeared on the show and was the first cast member to be voted off in episode 6.

According to TMZ, a friend reported to law enforcement that the former reality star had taken drugs prior to his death, possibly leading to an overdose. The friend said he saw Dias take what looked like LSD and mushrooms, then he ‘freaked out’ and ran to his room. LSD and mushrooms are drugs that contain psychological effects, including hallucinations. If taken in massive doses without receiving proper care immediately, serious health complications and death can occur.

Over the next few days, the friend attempted to contact Dias, but was unsuccessful. He was very worried and went to Dias' apartment on Monday to check on him, where he found his friend dead.

New evidence has led authorities to believe this may be a suicide. After first responders forced into his home, they discovered two 'vertical lacerations' on his forearm, TMZ reports.

Details regarding his death are still being investigated.

Please keep Danny Dias’s friends and family in your prayers. Thank you!
