President Trump Responds to 'Horrible Massacre' At Place of Worship, 49 Killed

The horrible news was reported that several people were killed in a mass shooting. A gunman opened fire at a mosque in Christchurch, New Zealand. When the news first emerged, little information was given regarding the attack.

Now, more information and grotesque details have been made available.

Tragically, at least 49 people were killed in the shooting. According to the New York Times, the gunman attacked two different mosques in central Christchurch.

Officials reported that one man has been charged with the murders. He is in his late 20s. Police also indicated that two explosive devices were found attached to a vehicle that they had stopped.

The attack took place during Friday Prayer, one of the busiest times at the mosque. The gunman reportedly recorded the attack live on Facebook as it was taking place.

Following the horrific news, prominent leaders from around the world spoke out about the tragedy.

President Trump wrote, “My warmest sympathies and best wishes goes out to the people of New Zealand after the horrible massacre in the Mosques. 49 innocent people have so senselessly died, with so many more seriously injured. The U.S. stands by New Zealand for anything we can do. God bless all!”

Ivanka Trump wrote, “49 innocent people were slaughtered in their place of worship during the terrorist attack on Christchurch Mosques. We  join New Zealand and Muslim communities around the world in condemnation of this evil as we pray for the families of each victim and grieve together.”
