Exactly one year to the day after retailer Target announced that it was opening up all its restrooms and fitting rooms to people of either gender depending on their self-determined “gender identity,” the company was hit with more bad news.
Target’s policy announcement last April created a firestorm among conservatives and many other common-sense individuals worried about predators having unquestioned access to their wives and daughters in bathrooms and changing rooms, especially amid incidents of video voyeurism.
Target experienced a terrible holiday season in sales last year, according to CNN Money, and anticipated an awful 2017.
While Target’s CEO Brian Cornell blamed online competition for the loss, which has certainly been affecting other retailers, the massive amount of boycotting customers has certainly had an effect, too.
