Some absolutely heartbreaking news was reported on Friday, July 13 out of Spokane, Washington. Three people were tragically killed in a plane crash seven miles west of Deer Park in Stevens County.
The crash involved Moody Aviation, an extension of the Moody Bible College. Three people were killed in the crash, including one instructor and two students.
According to FAA spokesman Allen Kenitzer, the Cessna 172 aircraft had crashed near Bittrich-Antler Road. At this point, the circumstances surrounding the crash are unknown. However, the FAA and the National Transportation and Safety Board will reportedly undergo investigations.
Moody Aviation opened up about the tragic situation on their Facebook page.
They said, “It is with great sadness that Moody Aviation acknowledges there was an accident today involving one of its training aircraft.”
They continued, “An instructor and two students perished in the event. Moody Aviation is cooperating with the National Transportation Safety Board. We are grateful for your prayers during this time.”
Moody Bible Institute posted as well:
According to the Deer Park manager, the school uses that area for flying several days a week. He said that that airport is good for training because it doesn’t have a radio tower in the way and it has long runways.
Sadly, three people have died in this horrible crash.
Earlier this year, Moody Bible College announced that they would be closing their Biblical Studies Campus in Spokane after the 2017-18 school year. However, the aviation program will continue on.
Please be praying for the family members of those who were killed in this horrible crash. This situation is absolutely heartbreaking. Share your prayers here. We will continue to update as more information is revealed.
