The world of ultimate fighting has taken over venues and arenas around the globe in recent years. The UFC has drawn thousands of fans who enjoy watching top athletes battle it out in the famous octagon cage.
Sadly, the UFC family is in mourning today. A famous young fighter has just passed away. Norifumi Yamamoto, a Japanese fighter, has died at the age of 41.
Yamamoto had battled cancer in recent years. Our deepest condolences go out to his family members at this time. Please join us in praying for them as they go through this difficult chapter in their lives.
"[Kid Yamamoto], who had been fighting cancer for a long time, has passed away on [Sept. 18],” the statement read. 'To everyone concerned for support, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all of the fans. In addition, please refrain from interviewing the Yamamoto family, family members, friends, etc, so that we can give consideration,'" according to reports.
Yamamoto was once listed as one of the first light weight fighters in the UFC. He last competed in 2015.
