A sad story has just been reported after the daughter of a famous MLB player has passed away. The incident took place at an elementary school in North Carolina.

According to reports, Jim "Catfish" Hunter's daughter mysteriously passed away following a school fire drill. Jim's daughter was a fifth grade teacher at the school.

"Perquimans County Schools assistant superintendent James Bunch tells The Virginian-Pilotthat 45-year-old Kim Hunter Daugherty died Thursday morning of an undisclosed medical emergency at Hertford Grammar School," reported local news outlets.

Kim had been a teacher for the past 20 years. At this time, her death is being investigated and officials are working to determine what caused her to pass away.

"Daugherty had taught for 20 years and was the daughter of Major League Baseball Hall of Fame pitcher Jim "Catfish" Hunter, who played for the Oakland Athletics and was on five World Series-winning teams. The newspaper reports Daugherty was the first girl in Perquimans County to play on the previously all-boy Little League teams," reported 10TV.

Please join us in praying for the Hunter family and for all of Kim's students as they go through this tragic time. We ask that God's healing grace would surround and comfort them.
