This story is proof that miracles do happen!
As reported by People magazine, Shelly Cawley from Concord, North Carolina had an emergency C-section in which the doctors had to put her under.
Her baby girl, Rylan was born healthy. However, several hours after the surgery, Shelly still hadn’t woken up. Instead she had fallen into a coma. Her husband, Jeremy, recalled the helpless feeling. “The doctors had done all they could and it was clear, they absolutely thought they were losing her at this point.”
Ashley Manus, a nurse at the hospital had an idea. Maybe Rylan could help bring her mother back to life. The doctors placed Rylan on her mother’s chest. “We’re a big proponent of skin-to-skin contact, we believe it has great benefits for the mom and the baby and we just thought it can’t hurt”.
After ten minutes of laying calm and peacefully on her mother’s chest, Rylan let out a loud cry. Almost immediately, Shelly’s vital signs on the monitors responded. “It was the crying that got Shelly going again, got her fighting again. I got my wife back,” Jeremy said.
Shelly ultimately recovered and both her and Rylan are healthy and happy. “It’s a complete miracle. There are no other words to describe it,” Ashley said.
