Tragic: Cause of Death Confirmed for 26-Year-Old Reality TV Star Who was Found Dead in Woods

A great tragedy occurred over the weekend. A young reality television contestant, 26-year-old Mike Thalassitis, was found dead in his hometown of Essex, London. His body was reportedly discovered in the woods near his house.

Thalassitis is best known for appearing on the reality dating shows “Love Island” in 2017 and “Celebs Go Dating” in 2018. He also played semi-professional football from 2010 until 2017.

Initially, the cause of death was not released to the public; however, it was clear that the circumstances were suspicious. A cause of death was finally released after the weekend. According to Fox News, he died of suicide.

He was allegedly in a “dark place” prior to taking his own life. The reality star had recently lost two people very close to him — his grandmother and his best friend.

Following his death, some of his fellow contestants spoke out about the importance of mental health in relation to “overnight” fame. Thalassitis reportedly felt “alone” at times and had difficulty coping with the struggles that accompany being in the spotlight, reported Fox.
