White House Boldly Responds to Terror Attack that Killed Several U.S. Troops

On Wednesday, January 16th, devastating news broke that a terrorist attack took place in Syria, killing at least 15 people including several of our United States troop members. ISIS claimed responsibility for the suicide bombing.

This attack came shortly after President Donald Trump announced he would be bringing U.S. troops home from Syria because the terrorist organization had been defeated. His executive decision was widely controversial as some politicians predicted that the announcement would encourage ISIS to strike again. However, others were grateful that our military was finally getting to come home.

Following news of the attack, Vice President Mike Pence released a bold statement on behalf of the Trump administration. Pence thanked our Armed Forces and assured the American people that ISIS remains “crushed.”

“President Trump and I condemn the terrorist attack in Syria that claimed American lives and our hearts are with the loved ones of the fallen. We honor their memory and will never forget their service and sacrifice,” Pence stated.

“Thanks to the courage of our Armed Forces, we have crushed the ISIS caliphate and devastated its capabilities,” the Vice President continued. “As we begin to bring our troops home, the American people can be assured, for the sake of our soldiers, their families, and our nation, we will never allow the remnants of ISIS to reestablish their evil and murderous caliphate — not now, not ever.”

The White House also expressed their sympathies to the families affected by this great tragedy: “Our deepest sympathies and love go out to the families of the brave American heroes who were killed today in Syria.  We also pray for the soldiers who were wounded in the attack. Our service members and their families have all sacrificed so much for our country.”

Please continue to pray for the families that have been impacted by this tragic situation, and for the safety of our nation. In other news, Pence’s wife is receiving mass criticism over her new job.
