Republicans and Democrats alike were not impressed with comedian Michelle Wolf's act at the White House Correspondents Dinner. Among those who weren't impressed was Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee.
The primary reason why Huckabee wasn't impressed was that the comedian targeted his daughter, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, in a way that was neither light-hearted nor humorous.
Comedian Michelle Wolf made some comments on Saturday night that were focused on the White House press secretary's professional conduct and personal appearance.
The Huffington Post writes that Wolf's remarks about Sanders seemed to "strike a nerve" with many viewers. On Sunday morning, Fox News reporter Ed Henry called on the White House Correspondents' Association to issue a public apology to the press secretary.
Throughout the performance, Wolf "joked" about Sanders being a liar. She also likened the press secretary to a macho softball coach and mocked her confrontations with reporters. It was clear that the performance was attacking the press secretary's personal appearance, character, and femininity.
"Every time Sarah steps up to the podium, I get excited. I'm not really sure what we're going to get, you know? A press briefing, or a bunch of lies divided into softball teams," Wolf said.

In a Sunday tweet, the former governor called out Wolf's denigration of his daughter's appearance.
“Those who think that the tasteless classless bullying at the WHCD was an example of the 1st Amendment should never condemn bullying, bigoted comments, racist bile or hate speech,” wrote Mr. Huckabee.
“People should be free to speak but held accountable for it,” he wrote.
On Monday morning, the former governor claimed that his daughter is doing fine despite the jokes at her expense during the dinner, according to The Hill.
“She didn't go home and cry her eyes out or anything like that. It's just not who she is,” Huckabee told The Hollywood Reporter.
“My daughter's a remarkable person and she's strong,” Huckabee told The Hollywood Reporter. “Things like that aren't going to cause her to lose sleep.”
Although he pointed out that his daughter is strong, he still wasn't happy that his daughter was "bullied in front of 3,000 people and millions on television."
