Former First Lady Michelle Obama isn't done taking shots at President Trump. She revealed exactly how she feels about her husband's successor—and how she was feeling on Inauguration Day—in her new memoir, according to PEOPLE

In a self-narrated audio version of her memoir Becoming, which played during Obama's Sunday interview with ABC News’ Robin Roberts, she revealed that she didn't even try to look happy. She says she made a decision to stop smiling.

“Someone from Barack’s administration might have said that the optics there were bad,” she continued. “That what the public saw didn’t reflect the president’s reality or ideals. But in this case, maybe it did. Realizing it, I made my own optic adjustment. I stopped even trying to smile.”

This isn't the first time that Obama has addressed the awkward Inauguration Day. On the Ellen DeGeneres Show in January, she talked about the gift that she was handed by First Lady Melania Trump.

“There’s all this protocol,” Mrs. Obama recalled. “I mean, this is like a state visit, so they tell you that you’re going to do this, they’re going to stand here. Never before do you get this gift, so I’m sort of like, ‘Okay, what am I supposed to do with this gift?’“

In the much publicized moment, she stood there awkwardly until Barack Obama grabbed the box from her.

“Everyone cleared out, and no one would come and take the box. And I’m thinking, ‘Do we take the picture [with the box]?’ ” she said. “And then my husband saved the day — see he grabbed the box and took it back inside."

Earlier in the week, Obama revealed that she blames President Trump for putting her daughters in danger. She said that Trump is a "birther," who spread a lie about her husband not being born in America.

She also called Trump and his followers “crazy and mean-spirited” with “underlying bigotry and xenophobia hardly concealed."

President Trump had a cutting response to her comments.

“She got paid a lot of money to write a book and they always expect a little controversy,” he told reporters.

He added, “I’ll never forgive [President Obama] for what he did to our United States by not funding it properly. It was depleted. It was old and tired, and I came in and I had to fix it, and I’m in the process of spending tremendous amounts of money, so I’ll never forgive him for what he did to our military."
