First Lady Melania Trump is currently mourning the loss of someone very close to her. Melania shared a tribute for one of her longtime friends and fashion designers, Karl Lagerfeld, on social media Tuesday morning.
“Today the world lost a creative genius. We will miss you Karl! #RIPKarlLagerfeld,” Mrs. Trump said.
In her tribute, Melania shared an old photo of her posing with Lagerfeld. She also posted a picture of her wearing one of Lagerfeld’s original designs. The First Lady wore this outfit during her first official White House appearance following President Trump’s inauguration, where the First Couple hosted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife Sara.
News first broke about the fashion legend’s passing on the morning of February 19th. As previously reported, he died in Paris at 85 years after being ill for several weeks.
The designer is famously recognized for his high-profile work with luxury brand Chanel and his collaborations with H&M, an affordable clothing retail company; however, he has worked on a number of other projects throughout his fashion career. He continued working in the industry all the way up until his death.
Other well-known names shared a tribute for the late fashion icon in addition to Melania Trump. Singer Charlie Puth, actor Neil Patrick Harris, television personality Piers Morgan, and model Karlie Kloss (Ivanka Trump’s new sister-in-law) are just a few celebrities who honored Lagerfeld.
Please pray for Lagerfeld’s friends, family, and loved ones during this difficult time! In other news, Dog the Bounty Hunter’s wife is also in need of prayer as she continues to battle cancer.
