Earlier this year, First Lady Melania Trump was battling health issues as she had to undergo a serious kidney procedure. Fortunately, the surgery went well; however, our First Lady was forced to stay under wraps for quite some time as she recovered.
Following her successful recovery process, Melania has made her way back into the spotlight with several public appearances over summer — including her European excursion alongside President Trump and keeping up with her visits to honorable members of the public. On Thursday, August 15th, the White House announced her next upcoming appearance.
“The First Lady will attend the sixth FPBP (Federal Partners in Bullying Prevention) Summit on Cyberbullying in Rockville, Maryland,” her office confirmed in a statement on Thursday. “Mrs. Trump will deliver brief remarks addressing the positive and negative effects of social media on youth — a key issue of her Be Best campaign.”
“The First Lady will also attend a panel discussion with representatives from multiple social media platforms,” the First Lady’s office added.
The First Lady’s participation in the summit comes as a part of supporting Melania’s own BE BEST campaign, which was launched in 2018. The campaign’s mission focuses on the overall well-being of children with an emphasis on cyberbullying and opioid abuse, according to the White House website.
The event will take place on Monday, August 20th. Please stay tuned for photos and updates regarding the success and productivity of the cyberbullying summit.
The First Lady also made headlines recently when she stunned in a colorful gown at President Trump’s glamorous dinner.
