On Friday, President Trump and First Lady Melania held an event at the White House to celebrate military mothers. The event took place ahead of Mother's Day on Sunday.
The FLOTUS looked lovely in a white sheath dress. The sleeveless dress featured white appliqué in a floral pattern.
President Trump and Melania held the celebration in the East Room of the White House. Melania styled her spring look with loose hair and taupe-colored high heels.
Speaking to the group before President Trump, FLOTUS said according to The Daily Caller, “Every day should be a celebration of mothers." She also called motherhood a “blessing in its rawest form."
She continued, "Because of the sacrifices made by your sons, husbands, daughter, and wives, we and our children enjoy the security and freedom to raise our children in the greatest country in the world."
The president also praised moms and wished the ladies an early Happy Mother’s Day. He also shared how much he misses his own mother.
Melania's press secretary shared details ahead of the event.
“Preparations are underway at the @WhiteHouse! @FLOTUS & @potus will give remarks at this year’s Celebration of Military Mothers. Thank you to all who serve – we are so grateful to you & your families,” Grisham tweeted.
CNN correspondent Kate Bennett noted that this isn't the first time that Melania has worn this particular dress. She first wore today’s white Prada dress in April 2018 for dinner at Mar-a-Lago.
