Melania Reveals Special Guest She's Bringing to State of the Union, Sad Reason He's Being Honored

Every year, special guests are invited to the State of the Union address. This year, one of those will be a very special 6th grader.

On Monday, the White House announced its list of official State of the Union guests. Thirteen Americans will be there, and they serve as in-person surrogates for the president’s policy agendas.

The youngest of the bunch is 11-year-old Joshua Trump. Trump is First Lady Melania Trump's plus one because, as the White House states, “Joshua has been bullied in school due to his last name.”

The invitation of Joshua Trump is part of Melania Trump’s Be Best campaign. The FLOTUS's anti-bullying campaign “encourage[s] everyone to be kind to each other and treat each other with respect in everyday life and on social media.”

Joshua Trump is one of 4,788 Americans who share a last name with the president. The young boy, who “loves animals and hopes to pursue a related career in the future,” reportedly stopped using his last name at school in December, and his parents even homeschooled him at one point because of his classmates’ bullying.

The press release also revealed that the young boy likes school. His favorite subjects are science, art, and history.

Please join us in praying for Joshua. No child deserves to be bullied, especially for such a ridiculous reason. What a wonderful thing for Melania to do!
