In September of 2018, Judge Brett Kavanaugh — who was President Donald Trump’s Supreme Court nominee at the time — found himself facing multiple sexual assault accusations. Christine Blasey Ford was by far the most high-profile accuser given the Kavanaugh-Ford hearing over her testimony, which claimed that Kavanaugh sexually abused her at a party in high school.
Many were torn on whether or not to believe Ford’s claim. Because of the timing of Ford coming forward and the lack of evidence against Kavanaugh, it was not a black-and-white situation.
Almost a year after the hearing, a new report has emerged about First Lady Melania Trump’s thoughts regarding Ford. “Justice on Trial: The Kavanaugh Confirmation and the Future of the Supreme Court,” a new book that was written by conservatives Mollie Hemingway and Carrie Severino, released the details.
Melania allegedly told her husband, “You know that woman is lying, don’t you?”
Mrs. Trump’s statement was an example of the fact that there were “millions of other women and men” who did not believe Ford’s claim. According to the New York Post, the book suggests that this was under-reported in the mainstream media.
The book is set to be released on Tuesday, July 9th. Copies can be purchased on Amazon.
