First Lady Melania Trump arrived in Ghana on Tuesday morning. This marks the start of her first major international solo trip as First Lady of the United States.
When she landed in Accra, she was greeted by Ghana's first lady, Rebecca Akufo-Addo. Ghana also welcomed her with dancing, drumming, and schoolchildren waving mini U.S. and Ghanaian flags.
Melania also accepted a bouquet of flowers from an 8-year-old girl before walking along a red carpet into an airport lounge. There she met with Akufo-Addo.
After her arrival, Trump visited a hospital neonatal intensive care unit. There she was pictured interacting with the babies, giving comfort and bonding with the children. It was a heart-melting moment, and it showed how much the first lady sincerely cares for the well-being of children all over the world.
Afterward, she's expected to go to the presidential palace for tea with Akufo-Addo. While there, she will work to promote child welfare.
After Ghana, First Lady Melania will also visit Malawi, Kenya, and Egypt. Please pray that she has a safe and fruitful trip.
