On Wednesday, December 12, First Lady Melania made First Lady history. She flew in a V-22 Osprey aircraft in order to visit some military bases.

According to the White House, this is the first time that a first lady has flown in an Osprey. The Military Times noted that the aircraft takes off and lands vertically.

First Lady Melania flew between Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling in Washington and Joint Base Langley-Eustis in Hampton, Virginia.

While many people were happy about Melania's historic move and about her gratitude to all of those who serve in the military, the media attention was on the look that she rocked for the event. While on the helicopter, she wore an all black, grunge look. Upon landing, she added a more classy flare but kept with the all-black attire.

Below are photos of Melania's fun style for the event:

According to CNN, the Osprey can fly longer ranges, similar to a plane, but also has the ability to take off and land like a helicopter. First Lady Melania visited “children from Burbank and Bethel Manor Elementary schools, Airmen from the 63rd Air Base Wine, 1st Fighter Wing and 192nd Wing, and Soldiers from the 7th Transporation Brigade from JBLE- Eustis,” according to the Base.
