A fan-favorite judge from “America’s Got Talent” recently announced her entry to a rehabilitation program, which will reportedly take place in upcoming days. Mel B — who sits on the panel with producer Simon Cowell, comedian Howie Mandel, and model Heidi Klum — confirmed the news in a heart-wrenching statement on Sunday, August 26th, reported E! News.
The “AGT” judge, 43, first rose to fame as “Scary Spice” from the 1990s, all-girl “Spice Girls” band. Since the band broke up, Mel B initially pursued a solo career and has also become a well-known television personality over the years.
Although her professional life appears to be all glam and success, Mel B has been battling personal issues for quite some time. Last year, her father sadly passed away and her malicious divorce from Stephen Belafonte was finalized.
"I've been working with a writer on my book, ‘Brutally Honest,’ and it has been unbelievably traumatic reliving an emotionally abusive relationship and confronting so many massive issues in my life," she stated. "I am being very honest about drinking to numb my pain but that is just a way a lot of people mask what is really going on."
"Sometimes it is too hard to cope with all the emotions I feel. But the problem has never been about sex or alcohol — it is underneath all that,” Mel B added. “I am fully aware I have been at a crisis point. No one knows myself better than I do, but I am dealing with it."
It is unclear how this will impact the judge’s time on “America’s Got Talent.” The hit talent show will continue with their live performances this week.
Please pray for Mel B during her time of recovery. In other celebrity news, a family member of Tim Conway revealed heartbreaking news about the television legend.
