It's been a wild ride for Meghan Markle. In the week leading up to her wedding, her father has several times changed his mind about whether he'll even attend the wedding.
Now there are new reports that his health problems will keep him away from the wedding. Kensington Palace is refusing to comment. However, AP reports that it's possible that he might need a heart procedure and will miss Saturday’s royal wedding in Windsor.
That raises the question: who will walk Meghan down the aisle if her father is unable to fly to England for the wedding? Despite the worry, AP said "royal representatives remained tight-lipped on possible changes to the program."
Harry’s press office declined to comment on a TMZ's report that Thomas Markle, 73, needed a heart procedure and would not be well enough to fly to England. Her father was the source who threw question on whether he'll attend.
He told TMZ that he will enter surgery at 7:30 am on Wednesday.
"They [doctors] will go in and clear blockage, repair damage and put a stent where it is needed," he said.
His condition has not been verified by a third party. Prince Harry’s press office said Wednesday it had no additional comment beyond a statement made two days ago calling for “understanding and respect” for Markle’s father, Thomas, “in this difficult situation.”
Thomas Markle, 73, was expected to spend the days before the wedding in Britain meeting Queen Elizabeth II and other senior royals. He is also still scheduled to walk his daughter down the aisle during the wedding Saturday in St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle. The palace has not announced any alternative plans for Thomas Markle’s role.
According to AP, an official announcement is expected if it’s confirmed that he will not be traveling to Britain for the wedding.
On the other hand, Meghan Markle’s mother, Doria Ragland, doesn't seem to have any issues. She is expected to visit with the queen and senior royals before the wedding, and she will also ride with her daughter to the chapel on the morning of the ceremony
AP added, "Some estranged members of Meghan Markle’s extended family have arrived in Britain but have not received invitations to the wedding."
In other news, there's a new baby for the "Duck Dynasty" clan. Congratulations to the family!
