Earlier this year, America mourned the loss of Republican Arizona Senator John McCain. McCain sadly passed away after a long battle with a rare form of brain cancer at 81 years old.

Following the tragic news of his death, his daughter Meghan McCain, 33, took a break from the public eye so she could spend time with her family. Meghan is best-known as one of the conservative voices on “The View.”

On Monday, October 8th, Meghan finally returned to the show. In Meghan’s emotional return, the Senator’s daughter opened her remarks by thanking “The View” and the public for their support regarding her father’s passing.

“It made me so inspired that the ideals that my father espoused throughout his career are the ideals of America and I think there was a lot of talk about what died with him. I’m here to tell you that it didn’t,” she said. “It is alive and well and I need us to remember that.”

“He believed America is the greatest country in the history of the world. He believed that when your candidate’s opponent says something racist in a rally, you push back. That is John McCain and that is what America is,” Meghan added.

She continued by expressing her gratitude to each woman at the table. Meghan personally told Whoopi Goldberg how much her father adored her and thanked the other ladies for praying with her. As she went around the table, she and the other co-hosts teared up.

Meghan ended her emotional remarks with a statement of faith: “God is real. I wouldn’t be here without my faith.”
